Trap and I went out to Wade on Thursday and put together a plan for Saturday's shoot. Then we got to Wade on Saturday, and the rain started. Which wouldn't have been a problem, except there was a gaping hole in the roof of the building that was serving as our set. The dripping water was kind of cool (think the
Nostromo from
Alien), but it wasn't good for some of our props, so we had to move them around which screwed up our blocking. Then the bulb in one of our 1K lights blew, which screwed up our lighting plan.
On top of all that, it was an effects-heavy day (thanks to Jonathan and Wendy for coming up and taking care of the blood, guts, aliens, etc.), so we ended up a couple of hours behind schedule. Which put wrap around 6 AM, which meant we were racing to get our last shots finished before the sun started shining in and killing the illusion that we were filming underground.
But I think we made our day, and I think that's a wrap for
Interplanetary interiors.

Glad to hear you guys got done... I wouldn't have bailed so early but I almost fell asleep on the stairs a couple of times. Anyway, I'm cooking my photos and will send a selection on once they're cooked.

I just wanted to say I had a great time working with you and your team Saturday! Everyone was very professional and I could tell right when I got there that you knew what you were doing. Thanks for making me feel at home and hopefully i'll get the opportunity to work with you again in the future!

Wendy -- glad you had a good time. And glad to hear that we appear to know what we're doing! I can't wait to see how your puppetry footage comes out -- I expect it's gonna be awesome.
Man, that was an awesome time. I had NO clue what goes into shooting a scene.
